Seeds

I don't know about you, but I get so focused on the harvest I want to reap, that I forget everything else.

#2 of Giving thanks, giving gifts: Seeds

Choose the soil, choose the healthy seeds, choose the weather, the moisture, the warmth. Focus on what and how will you plant, do everything what you need to do to make sure that something (what you want) will grow out of these seeds. Take care of them, love them, observe them. Water them when they need water, protect them from weeds and pests. Focus on your seeds...

I have to remind myself quite often to not get destructed by the thoughts of harvest of the day. I push away the time for the seeds... and then... if I'm not careful, they die from neglecting. Does it happen to you too? Do you have some wise words to share that keep you focused?

So, today I'd like to wish you: enjoy growing seeds and focus less on the harvest! Have a wonderful month!

Giving thanks, giving gifts 2014

Yes, it is back this year as well - the time in December that is especially precious to me. Time, dedicated to saying thanks and giving gifts. Time, when I look back into the year 2014, from which I've got new knowledge, new discoveries, new questions and answers. I am thankful for these gifts, which can not compete with all the St.Nikolas's-Santa Clause's-Father Cold's-New Year's gorgeous gifts, which are (compared with them) just a dot on a letter i. These gifts are gifts for ever, they will stay with me forever, from the day I've received them.

As always I invite you to join in and add your thoughts, comments, opinions and ideas, so that we all gain from this time as much as we can. And you’re welcome to invite others too!

This year my ‘Giving thanks, giving gifts’ is going to be a bit different from the previous years (2013, 2011, 2010, 2009), but I hope, that it is still going to be interesting and inspiring to you… My posts are going to be dedicated to the wise words that some known and less known people have said, and which helped me when I was down. Yes, there are days, when we doubt, worry, feel sad, feel pain or feel desperate… - and then, a word can help, or a hug, smile, music… What usually helps me are the words and actions that cross my path at the right time, at the right place. I’ll share some of these words with you this year.

#1: Everything is connected:

we all want similar things, we all need somebody or something that we can survive, everything is connected to everything else. Isn’t it great that someone grows food for me while I am busy with other things? Isn’t it great that I can talk to someone when I need advice? Garbage men, workers who produced my car, a dentist, neighbor’s cat, flowers and bees from which we get sweet honey... The list is endless. Everyone that we meet, has to be there because of us, everything that we go through, has to be as it is, so that the string of connection doesn’t break. It is not always to accept this, but I’m learning to see. I wish the same to you, because I believe it is easier to live our lives when we understand this, isn’t it so? What do you think?

And yes, we all want to be happy, every year, every December, no matter where we live. Isn’t it true? When you will be thinking about this, let me inspire you with this gorgeous simple video, which will remind you that we are all one…

Always there

"Our job is improving the quality of life, not just delaying death." - Hunter Doherty Patch Adams

When I heard about Robin Williams and his sad goodbye, my World stopped for a while. I was soaked into my deep Self, where things from my past were waiting to be awakened again. And that day came...

There he was, a boy from my childhood, the happiest kid in the neighborhood. Always laughing, always full of life, always making others people's lives a little bit brighter. And then, one day, he was gone. A suicide. At age 13. And a big wound in my heart.

Years passed by. The best years of my life were spent in a beautiful presence of a guy I really liked. He made us laugh, love life and he was our guide into a soulful life, focusing on the others. He was my inspiration - to live better, to do better. And then, one day, he was gone. Cancer. At age 20. And a big wound in my heart.

In a way, Robin Williams was for me a projection of those two people. He had the same 'glow' around him as I remembered I saw around my friends. He helped me to keep my friends in my heart - they were always there, very alive, very true.

I believe they were part of my path into Art therapy. I've always had a need to help people to be who they really are. The quiet ones, depressed ones, sad ones, the 'happy' ones, the abused ones, the poor ones... They were my teachers and they were my patients. They were my motivation and inspiration.

So I chose a path, called Art Therapy. But the World today doesn't want to deal with people who need help. The World closes its eyes and pretends they are gone. And for those, who do want to help, it feels like they are fighting with the windmills. The system wanted my money, but not my help. So, my life-path had to change a direction. I decided to invest the money into people, not a system. Because of that, my journey will be longer and harder, but Art therapy will always be with me, no matter what. And my friends, and Robin Williams and all the people I've worked with on my journey will always be there, too. Because of them I won't give up the things that are written in my heart, probably from the day I was born.

That's why I would like to dedicate this post and a video from my favorite Williams's movie role 'Patch Adams' to all of you who dream about a better World, better people and things we could do to make our lives brighter. Let the video inspire you to give, do and feel the best you can, and never give up your dreams, your true Self.

Never too late

There are some days when I wonder who holds my life in his/her hands... Is it really me, just me? Or is there something beyond my power, beyond my knowledge?

Sometimes my path brings me to the places I didn't want to go. Should I say thank you or complain? Should I stop there or continue my journey? I wish somebody would wisper the answer to my ear...

But I am grateful for my life. I found my place on Earth, where I can spread my love to Mother Nature, where my heart is full of joy when watching the sky, listening to water symphonies, and where the mountains protect you from evil.

One thing I know: if I was younger and braver, I would dedicate my life to Mother Nature and photography. I would want to be part of Yann Arthus Bertrand's team, educate young children how to take care of our planet, tell stories with pictures, heal ourselves with nature and pictures.
I still can't believe it how many children (and adults) don't know how to recycle or do other little steps to protect our planet, our environment, ourselves. We are all connected! We are One! (Maybe this magnificant video can explain what I mean:)

I wish they'd teach me in school how to live on planet Earth to keep its balance. I wish that at history lessons I wouldn't hear about us, humans, like we are the only living beings on the Earth - the history is not only ours... The history goes beyond us. I wish that at biology lessons I would learn how to touch a living creature to not hurt it, destroy it. How to take care of it, understand why it is there, its mission, its story - not because of us, but next to us... Everything is linked, everything is connected.

It is not too late to set ourselves free from our daily unimportant stories, written in our daily newspapers, on TV screens, on the radio. We can focus our 'cameras' onto the things that are important, important for us and important for our planet.  Set yourself free from your stories!

Balance yourself, be you (the person who lives in your heart), let the Earth and Universe inspire you to live a life above the games people play to avoid responsibilities and to pretend there's nothing to be done.

Set yourself free, - it is not too late, and listen to the Mother Earth. She has a lot to say...

Gift of the gifts

Today, in the World of plenty and in the World of nothing, I wonder what is the real gift that I can give or receive... Is it something material, is it the money, is it something intangible? Where to find a key to answer this question?

Through the years of life experiences and challanges, through the work I did with children and their parents, and through the trails and fails, I've found the gift of gifts I cherish the most now.

It is 'the time'.
The time that you take for me, spend with me.

It is the (quality) time that parents spend with their children, which makes a huge difference in child's life. Sometimes children don't understand or appreciate parents' efforts to give them their true love, but I always say to them: don't give up! One day things will change. One day we will all see a clearer picture of the world around us. One day we will all remember (not all the material things we've got) the precious time that someone spent with us especially because of us.

Take your time, my friends. Take it today. And use it wisely...

Let this week be the one to remember forever!
